the roof at Merryall Chapel

More than a century after its original members built the Merryall Chapel, the Merryall Union Evangelical Society is still hard at work keeping the building in good shape.
The interdenominational chapel was built in 1890 on Chapel Hill Road.
With the new millennium, the society wants to replace the roof on the historic structure where worship services are still observed monthly from May to December, and weddings still take place on request.

When we think of folk art, many times a picture of a craftsperson from Appalachia comes to mind. But there's a bona fide folk artist here in New Milford native son Sigmund "Sigy" Perlowsky.
